This two-day class targets firefighters and officers of all ranks who desire to become more proficient at leading their workforce by resolving and solving conflicts and workplace issues successfully. The class consists of three highly interactive, hands on modules that focuses on the participants practicing making realistic conflict resolution decisions using ethical and department standards.

Often times, we learn new ideas we want to implement, but once we get back home, we may find we don’t recall everything we learned but mostly, we don’t have a roadmap on how to get there.

Passport Accountability — Train-the-Trainer

This train the trainer multi-media workshop is designed to prepare fire service instructors to deliver the lesson plan for the “Passport Accountability System” to fire service officers responsible for emergency incident management. The class is delivered using slides, video, and a tabletop simulator. Students work in small and large groups as they learn to use the lesson plan.

Table Top Strategy & Tactics: ITAC TABLETOP COMMAND AND CONTROL OF MAJOR OPERATIONS

This multi-media workshop, designed for fire service officers responsible for emergency incident management at structural and hazardous materials incidents. The materials are delivered using slides, video and a tabletop simulator. Students work in small and large groups to examine case studies and solve tabletop simulated incidents that range from simple hazmat and f irst alarm commercial to large multiple story commercial and industrial occupancies with hazmat and WMD challenges.

This two and a half to three day multi-media workshop, designed for fire service officers responsible for emergency incident management, is delivered using slides, video, live fire, and a tabletop simulator. Students work in small and large groups to examine case studies and solve tabletop simulated incidents that range from simple house fires to large multiple story commercial and industrial occupancies.

FIRE INSTRUCTOR I AND II

Stop putting students asleep”. This IFSAC-based class, taught by BC Adam Rosenlund, is a dynamic course that will explore the techniques needed to inspire and educate students. This course will focus on the presentation skills that new instructors need in delivering prepared lesson plans. Topics will include preparing to teach, developing presentation skills, using audiovisual equipment, and identifying lesson objectives, questions, tests, and evaluation instruments. Students will make six presentations during the course.

Basic Auto Extrication

This curriculum presents the student with more complex and dynamic hands-on scenarios requiring advanced stabilization and progressive methods of disentanglement and extrication.  The students will be able to recognize hazards, use equipment and implement techniques necessary to operate safely and effectively at incidents involving persons injured or entrapped in a vehicle or machinery emergencies.

Maritime Incident Command for Land-Based Shipboard Fire Departments

This course will provide experienced fire officers with knowledge allowing them to command a ship fire incident involving a large vessel tied to a pier/dock.
